About
Objective running-shoe geometry, with a source behind every number.
What this is
ShoeGeometry is a structured database of running-shoe geometry: heel-to-toe drop, stack heights, rocker onset, toe spring, heel bevel, plate type and, where available, stiffness. Every value is labelled by origin (manufacturer stated, externally measured, AI estimated or derived), carries a confidence score and links to its source. The aim is to make geometry comparable across brands without marketing language.
Who runs it
ShoeGeometry is an independent, individually run project, operated by David Kleman. It launched on 2 October 2026. It is not owned by, sponsored by or affiliated with any shoe brand or retailer. If that ever changes it will be stated on this page and in the affiliate disclosure.
How the data is produced
Specifications are collected from public manufacturer pages, reputable reviews and published research by a software pipeline that records the source URL, the exact text it read and the date. Values that disagree between sources are held for review rather than averaged. Image-derived geometry is estimated from side-profile photographs with a versioned algorithm and is always marked as an estimate. The full conventions are on the methodology page.
Shoes marked “development sample” were entered manually while the site was being built and have not yet been verified against a source. They are being replaced progressively.
What it is not
ShoeGeometry describes products. It does not assess individuals, diagnose conditions or recommend treatment. Geometry affects how a shoe behaves; whether that suits you is a question for you and, where relevant, a qualified professional.
Corrections
If a value is wrong, email hello@shoegeometry.com with the shoe, the metric and a link to the source. Corrections are recorded as new observations with their own provenance, so the history of a value stays visible.
