Low-drop running shoes
Rule: Heel-to-toe drop of 4 mm or less (includes zero drop) · 15 current models
A low drop means the heel is only slightly higher than the forefoot. Many road shoes sit between 4 and 10 mm; shoes at 4 mm or below change how the foot and ankle are positioned at landing and how the shoe feels underfoot.
Every value in the table is labelled as manufacturer stated, externally measured or estimated, with its source and confidence. Where two sources disagree, the page for that shoe shows both.

Questions
- What counts as low drop?
- There is no formal definition. We use 4 mm or less, which captures zero-drop models and the lowest of the conventional range.
- Why do two sources give different drops for the same shoe?
- Brands state the drop of a specific size, while labs measure a different size or include the insole. Each shoe page lists every recorded value.
